My current Negroni Sbagliato recipe
A Negroni made lighter with Prosecco. Bitter, sparkling and very simple to make.

A traditional Negroni is equal parts gin, Campari and sweet vermouth. Replace the gin with Prosecco and you have a Sbagliato.
It keeps the bitterness and depth of a Negroni, but the sparkling wine makes it lighter and easier to drink. This is how I make mine.
What you need
- 30 mlCampari
- 30 mlSweet vermouth
- 30 mlProsecco
- PlentyIce
- OneWide strip of orange peel
How to make it
- Chill your glass.
- Pour in the Campari and sweet vermouth.
- Fill the glass with ice, then top with Prosecco.
- Stir once, gently. You want to mix the drink without flattening it.
- Express the orange peel over the glass and leave it in.
A few notes
Add the Prosecco last. It keeps the bubbles in the drink rather than stirring them out before you have started.
Keep everything cold. Warm ingredients melt the ice faster and turn a very good drink into a watery one.
Adjust it if you need to. If you want less bitterness, use a little less Campari and a little more Prosecco. It is your drink.
Why Sbagliato?
Sbagliato means mistaken in Italian. The drink replaces the gin in a Negroni with sparkling wine.
A useful mistake.
