Now I'm

The Mantras I live by

  • Zig and zag. When everyone zigs you zag. If you're doing what everybody else is doing, you will not succeed.
  • It's not about more how-to information, it's about why-to. Think about this before you read your next book, have you put anything in the last book you read into practice? It's not enough to just ingest more pages.
  • Don’t follow footsteps, follow what they sought. Those footsteps rolled-up behind them.
  • The Pareto principle.
  • Do things that scare you.
  • Create value for others.
  • Document everything you learn.
  • Start from the end.
  • Don’t undervalue yourself and your time.
  • Automate as much as you can.
  • Expect disaster.

Want learn faster and more effectively?

I started Pareto with the question: how can we re-think learning to vastly reduce the time taken to learn and provide a dramatically better learning experience based on each individual's motives?

The answer I came up with stems from what I believe:

Technology and computational science

I believe in using the power of technology and computational science to not only enhance learning but to be at the core of learning. For example, before a course is launched, millions of data points are analysed to find the minimal learnable unit to proficiency.

Goal-oriented learning

I believe in creating a learning experience that aligns with the motives, goals, and strengths of each individual. For example, some people want to learn to code to be able to create their startup while some want to get a job at a tech firm. These are two different motives and should not be painted with the same brush.

Effective learning

I believe that often times in learning, it's what you do, not how you do it - that is the determining factor. This is the difference between effective learning (learning the right things), and efficient learning (learning things well, whether or not they're important).

Want a new and untainted lens to view the most important issues around the world?

We form our opinions on complex topics today mostly from comments of those around us and the media.

This makes our view on these Issues and topics marginally biased, unfair, and most times, vastly wrong.

Know shit radio goes behind the curtain to give you a fresh and in-depth look on these topics we are most ignorant about, topics we currently see through lenses tainted by the media and the bubble around us. We help clean those lenses and reveal why these topics matter to us all.

With know shit radio, I take on these topics with the help of our community, hunt down expert witnesses on both sides of the table to answer our thought-provoking questions. Giving you a raw, unfiltered, impartial, and unbiased view with the full context of the issue, thereby empowering you to form your own opinions about the topic.

Once a month I also get stories about people with big and clever ideas aiming to tackle the issues we talk about in the radio - and probing if their solutions actually work.

Join me on my quests to weed out the false from the known, surface the unknown, and help wipe the mud off the lenses we use to view complex topics in our world today.
